Doctor Lesley Douglas, RN, BH(MH), GDip Midwifery, MFMH, CMHN, PhD
Dr Lesley Douglas is a forensic mental health specialist with over 35 years of clinical
experience within the mental health field. Formal training in the preparation of reports for
the courts was provided through Justice Health & Forensic Mental Health Network.
Dr Douglas has specialised qualifications in both mental health and forensic mental health
and a doctorate from the University of New England, NSW, focusing on adolescent
trauma.
She is the principal consultant at New England Forensic Mental Health Services and an
adjunct lecturer for the University of New England, Armidale. She is currently working as
part of a research team through the School of Health.
Dr Douglas is also a board member for Billabong Clubhouse, Tamworth. Billabong Clubhouse is
an internationally recognised organisation that provides support and assistance to those
living with a mental condition.
Ms Eilish O’Shea, Executive Assistant
Eilish is a research assistant at the University of New England in the School of Health and
provides executive support to Dr Douglas.
Eilish has a keen interest in the research field, particularly adolescent mental health. She
is currently enrolled in a science degree through the University of New England.
